East Kent areas
The four areas of East Kent (Canterbury, Dover, Shepway and Thanet) offer a business-friendly environment for businesses wishing to relocate.
Canterbury
Canterbury has one of the most buoyant economies in Kent making it an attractive location for new investors. It has a population of around 150,000 covering Canterbury City, Herne Bay and Whitstable. Dover
The Dover area is the nearest point to mainland Europe, and includes three main towns, Dover, Deal and Sandwich with a population of over 106,000. Shepway
Shepway covers the commercial hub of Folkestone and the Cinque Port towns of Hythe, New Romney and Lydd and has a population of around 100,100. Home to the Channel Tunnel and London Ashford Airport it has fast access to mainland Europe and several available business sites. Thanet
Thanet is located at the eastern end of Kent and includes the costal towns of Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate and has a population of around 128,000.
