Aug 13, 2010

Savills has been formally appointed by East Kent Opportunities (EKO) to act as property agents on the marketing and development of Manston Business Park in Thanet.

Mark Flemington, Director in the South East Development and Commercial Team of Savills, said: "By combining the skills of our Kent and London operations we will now be taking Manston Business Park to the marketplace, and working closely with Locate in Kent, Kent and Medway's investment promotion agency, to market the site to potential industrial, warehousing and office tenants."

Confirming Savills' appointment, which followed a competitive appointment process involving three Kent-based practices, David Evans, Executive Director at EKO, said: "Mark and his colleagues have played an important role in advising us, not only on Manston Business Park, but also the potential development of Eurokent. It is now the right time to use their knowledge of the area and their property expertise to help market the site on a national basis. EKO views Manston Business Park as a tremendous employment opportunity for the local area and a key part of Thanet's regeneration strategy."

East Kent Opportunities, the joint venture between Kent County Council (KCC) and Thanet District Council (TDC), owns Manston Business Park, formerly Kent International Business Park, totalling 27 hectares (70+ acres) adjacent to Manston, Kent's international airport. The Park is already home to Avia Services, Cohline (UK) Ltd, Cummins Power Generation and Invicta Produce.
