Marlowe Innovation Centre - May opening
Marlowe Innovation Centre, the new £1.9million cutting edge centre for business in east Kent, is due to open this May to facilitate the growth and development of small or start-up businesses.
The centre, located on the site of the prestigious Marlowe Academy, will provide a fantastic working environment with ample parking and everything that an innovative business will need to flourish.
It will offer companies the chance to partner with the academy, providing opportunities for students to gain 'real world' experience of developing new businesses and giving businesses the opportunity to access the resources of the school community.
Progress on the construction of the centre continues apace with a project management company currently being recruited to provide top quality support to tenants, allowing them to make the most of their business ideas.
Accommodation on offer includes 18 office units (8 to 24msq), six light industrial workshops (30 to 50msq), as well as an open-plan office with 12 desks. Virtual office facilities are on offer for businesses working from home or from overseas.
Marlowe Innovation Centre comes complete with refreshment point, meeting area, and boardroom. All workshops, offices and open-plan desks are supplied with high- spec internet and telecoms.
Cabinet Member for Education Operations, Resources and Skills Mark Dance said: “Benefiting from flexible license agreements and high quality support services, tenants at the Marlowe Innovation Centre will be able to focus all their energies on making their businesses a success.”
Marlowe Innovation Centre is a partnership project between Kent County Council, the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, the European Regional Development Fund, Thanet District Council and East Kent Partnership.
