GoTalk
GoTalk is the retail division of WaveCrest, a company that provides world class voice services to the residential, pre-paid calling card and wholesale carrier markets. Founded in 2001, WaveCrest is a global communications service provider offering wholesale and retail voice services.
In the retail sector the company provides telephony services including calling cards, residential phone services, dial through Premium Rate Services and call back services to end users in the UK and Ireland. WaveCrest acquired GoTalk as its first retail business in 2003.
The award-winning GoTalk call centre operation is based in Ramsgate, Kent, and employs 120 people. Founded in 1999, the call centre is responsible for terminating 350 million minutes of international traffic per month.
GoTalk's sales manager Mark Smith said: "Being based in Kent has brought us many benefits. There are excellent labour skills available here, and our people are the reason why we have experienced such a rapid rate of growth. They are motivated and want to stretch themselves, and they also live on our doorstep which means we can continue to expand at the rate we want to.
"Our proximity to France - and the Eurostar at Ashford - meant that it made perfect sense for us to establish our French service here. We employ French nationals to run the service and one of them even took full advantage of the transport links by commuting to work from France each day.
"Expanding as quickly as we have has also meant taking on a lot more office space. Again with Kent's very reasonable commercial property rates this has not placed an unnecessary burden on the business and we can continue to achieve our growth plans."
