Future Regeneration

With so much going on, East Kent is fast becoming the "place to be" in the south-east. The area is set to benefit substantially from the opening of the High Speed 1 (HS1) to domestic passengers in 2009. East Kent's ability to attract multi-million pound investments is already driving a programme of regeneration.

Ramsgate, Margate, Dover, rapidly expanding Aylesham, and nine coastal towns from Whitstable to Hythe are all experiencing urban renaissance. Their economies are diversifying, to unlock the potential to invest in skills, create jobs, innovation and enterprise.  And yet their character is being retained, while infrastructure is being improved, new houses are being provided, and expansion is being sensitively managed. The investments and developments in each town will play a crucial part in the growth of East Kent.
