Kent International Airport is ideally located for road access to London and beyond. Owner Infratil Airports Europe Ltd, is improving its excellent facilities. The airport has a 3,200 m² full freight handling capacity and a runway that can handle all types of aircraft with no slot or gate restrictions. It has very quick turnarounds - 90 minutes on a full 747F and 180 minutes for a full off and on load. And with a 700 m² Border Inspection Post, it is one of the best in the UK. Plus, KIA is able to offer unconstrained space for expansion.
"Kent International Airport's owners Infratil Airports Europe Limited are working to strengthen the airport's passenger and freight business and the excellent facilities - capable of handling all aircraft types, 50,000 tonnes of freight a year and 700,000 passengers a year - mean the facility has a bright future."
Neil Richardson, Infratil Airports Europe Limited.
Lydd Airport is operated by London Ashford Airport Ltd ‘LAA'. More than £20m has been invested in upgrading facilities at Lydd over the past few years, including a resurfaced runway, improved instrument landing system, the creation on an aircraft parking apron covering a 13 acre site, a new air traffic control system and new VIP terminal, improved car parking and new departure and arrival facilities for commercial traffic.
London Ashford Airport (LAA) has plans to create a new terminal building capable of handling up to 500,000 passengers a year and a 444 metre extension to the existing 1,505 metre runway.
"Our proposals for the airport will be good for people looking for worthwhile careers in aviation, good for local communities, good for local businesses and good for the East Kent region as a whole. I'm confident that our development plans are the best way forward to securing sustainable prosperity for the area." LAA managing director Zaher Deir
