Universities

There are four universities in East Kent offering a diverse range of specialisms. Plans to develop a new technology park within the University of Kent, in addition to The Enterprise Hub, will strengthen its clear commercial advantage in developing significant business opportunities for the future in East Kent.

University of Kent

  • UKC is a mile from Canterbury city centre and also has centres in Medway (University of Kent at Medway), Tonbridge, London and Brussels.
  • Specialist subjects include Arts, Biometrics, Business and Finance, Cancer Research, Electronics, Energy, ICT, Law, Modern Languages, Organisational Performance and Culture, Security Technology.

Canterbury Christ Church University

  • The main campus is in Canterbury and there are additional campuses in Tunbridge Wells, Broadstairs, Folkestone and Chatham.
  • Specialist subjects include Business and Finance, ICT, Marine and Sciences.

  • The University College has campuses at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester.

University Centre, Folkestone

Folkestone's first university is a satellite campus of Canterbury Christchurch University and the University of Greenwich. 

Specialist subjects include Performing and Visual Arts, Business and Enterprise. Programmes are designed to nurture entrepreneurship to support students develop their own businesses.
