The growing marine industry is supported by it's strong connectivity between Kent International Airport, High Speed 1 and the busy harbours and marines in Ramsgate, Dover and Folkestone. This sector encompasses leisure & commercial marine, ship building & equipment enhanced by the multi-million pound development of Dover Western Docks.

Environmental engineering is one of the most contemporary emerging sectors - energy production and the development of sustainable technologies. East Kent has been chosen to be home a £2.3 billion wind power project. The London Array will be the world's first gigawatt scale offshore wind farm and will have greater output than the entire current UK wind farm capacity.
