Shepway

Shepway is in the Channel Corridor area of Kent with a population of around 99,500. It includes Folkestone, Hythe, New Romney and Lydd.

  • Home to the High Speed Rail Link ‘HS1' (formerly the Channel Tunnel Rail Link) and London Ashford Airport at Lydd, Shepway offers business a location within touching distance of mainland Europe. Development is planned at London Ashford Airport which will enable it to carry up to 2 million passengers per annum.
  • The opening of Ebbsfleet International has given Folkestone faster links to London. HS1 domestic services will be operational in 2009, reducing travel times - Folkestone to London in 63 minutes.
  • The Shearway Business Park is less than two miles away from the Channel Tunnel and only a few miles from the Port of Dover. It is home to the new HQ for the Immigration and Nationality service.
  • Mountfield Road Industrial Estate in New Romney is the largest industrial estate in the area.
  • Cheriton Parc overlooks the Channel Tunnel Terminal at Folkestone and is allocated for office use.
  • Investment in Folkestone Central Station and development of a £40 million state-of-the-art school will improve business and educational opportunities in the area. And a new shopping centre in Folkestone (Bouverie Place), provides over 200,000 sq ft of floor space.
