Dover

Dover is on the South East coast, the nearest point to mainland Europe. The area has a population of over 106,000 and includes three main towns, Dover, Deal and Sandwich.

  • The Port of Dover is the leading ferry terminal in the UK with departures every 20 minutes. Just 15 minutes from Eurotunnel's departure point at Folkestone and 25 minutes from the Eurostar passenger terminal via Ashford International. Phase 2 of its £420million port expansion is currently developed.
  • Dover has a network of major business sites throughout the area including the flagship White Cliffs Business Park, ideally located a few miles from the Port of Dover. Planning permission has been granted for a £100 million development of the site, potentially creating 1,800 full and part time jobs.
  • The opening of Ebbsfleet International has given Dover faster links to London. High Speed 1 ‘HS1' domestic services will be operational in 2009, reducing travel times - Dover to London in 74 minutes.
  • Farthingole Village Business site is on the west side of Dover in a rural setting and is suitable for offices, research and development and light industry.
  • Betteshanger Park has 120 hectares for potential redevelopment. Buckland Mill is a prime 3.9 acre site with a proposal to regenerate a mixed use development
  • Plans for a £50 million regeneration scheme at the St James' site in the town centre and a multi million pound expansion of Aylesham.
